I LOVE YOU
although realeasing this song is a loosely considered and absolute knee-jerk reaction to a year of shocking hatred, i consider this a pivotal moment in my life. it is a time i am moved to reassert my commitment to helping enact positive change for the world.
this is an impromptu reminder to always see the beauty in the bummer and never lose hope. its also a personal plea to help each other help each other.
out of the ugly, prettiness grows.
100% of the proceeds from this song for its lifetime will be donated to the ACLU, the American Civil Liberties Union. For almost 100 years, the ACLU has worked to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties guaranteed by the Constitution and laws of the United States.
There's no one place to donate our money, time or platform to, which is why this is part of a larger sea change for hellogoodbye to be involved when and where i can to spread love and support and positivity to all. make no mistake, we are all the same and we all deserve only that.
tracked mostly live with eric and brendan in april as i lay crippled by the overwhelming beauty and sadness i saw all around me. i saw no end to either phenomenon and became convinced the only reasonable choice is to acknowledge the sadness / do what i can to relieve it & appreciate the beauty / do what i can to relive it.
